Hi everyone, This place located in Seafood City, has been remodelled beautifully (Reminds me of the setup like Carnival). They have full setup of a variety of deliciously prepared food (The bomb!! ). The BBQ skewers order was get 4 and get 1 free ($4.50 ea). Not sure how long that special will last. And there is a nice area to sit and eat like cafeteria style. I loved the stuffed chili lumpia. Wow never had these before. It's so delicious that we came back for a total of 3 times to date to make sure we got whatever they sold. They also sell foot long Turon, and yes it's fat not skinny (in addition to regular sized). So yummy nummy! Also, we love the Halo Halo here, it's sweet but not too sweet;better than most Filipino shops. So I'm totally a believer now. I do prefer the crunchy toppings, though and it's not offered. Btw, they had a sign 9/10/22, buy $25 minimum anywhere in the store and u get Halo Halo Overload (with the toppings) for $2 (for that day only). So I bought 3 different times in the same date and time frame I was there. Food separate, bakery item separate, separate receipt for Green Tea Ice Cream separate. Well, when I went to redeem the 3 receipts so I could claim the $2 overload Halo Halo, they refused. They said it should show up in one receipt. SO YEAH WE FELT RIPPED OFF! So, I'm venting it here so if you go, BE VERY CLEAR WHEN U ASK THEM FOR THEIR "SPECIALS". With over 3 million views the algorithm should have everyone get the message. (My only beef for now). Also, they have a bakeryeith yummy nummy ube pan de sal with cream cheese in it. So yummy guys. It's worth heading out there in spite of 1 complaint.

Grill City - National City is a hidden gem nestled within the bustling Seafood City marketplace at 1420 E Plaza Blvd in National City, California. This vibrant spot brings a fresh twist to casual dining, offering an array of flavorful dishes that consistently impress both locals and visitors alike. The remodeled space recalls the lively atmosphere of a carnival, complete with cafeteria-style seating that invites you to savor your meal comfortably.

The true highlights here are the dishes that blend traditional Filipino flavors with creative flair. The BBQ skewers, priced at an incredible value with specials like “buy 4, get 1 free,” showcase tender, well-seasoned meats grilled to perfection. The stuffed chili lumpia is a revelation — a spicy, savory surprise that had me returning multiple times just to taste it again. It’s a rare find that stands out among standard Filipino fare.

If you crave something sweet, Grill City’s foot-long Turon is a must-try: generously sized, perfectly crispy, and packed with flavors that hit the mark every time. Their ube pan de sal with cream cheese from the bakery section also offers a delightful contrast of textures and rich sweetness, balancing savory and dessert with finesse. And for the ultimate cool-down, the Halo Halo here is noteworthy — not overly sweet and topped with crushed ice that refreshes without overwhelming. While some might wish for crunchier toppings, the flavor profile is undeniably authentic and satisfying.

Customer reviews emphasize the consistent quality and affordability, making Grill City a prime lunch destination that doesn’t strain your wallet. Some nuances with promotional clarity were noted, but they don’t overshadow the genuine warmth and satisfying culinary experience this place delivers. Whether you’re a Filipino food enthusiast or simply seeking fresh, tasty bites in National City, Grill City stands out as a flavorful stop worthy of repeat visits.
